My passions extend beyond language into the realm of design and color. Several years ago, I went back to school and earned an A.S. degree in Interior Design. I also opened my own design business and had the privilege of working with some fantastic clients.
The two fundamental values that underscore all the interior design work I do are:
Design Philosophy I am committed to creating inspired spaces for home and business that promote healthful living, respect the earth and the environment, and allow clients to function in their space with grace and ease. I am dedicated to ensuring that the design process is low-key, creative, inclusive, and fun! |
Great Design
It's more than just creating pretty rooms or handsome offices. Great design cares as much about how a space works for a client, as it does about how it looks. Functionality is key, and should always be at the forefront of any design project. I ensure that my client's true needs and desires are met. How will the space be used? What are the ways people will live or work inside of it? How does the client want to feel in this space? These questions drive the design choices—everything from color to textiles and fabrics to lighting and furniture.
Conscious Choices I help my clients make choices that are good for the world at large, support their specific and unique needs, and contribute to great design. Conscious and creative re-use of clients' existing pieces and materials, along with incorporating eco-friendly and healthy paints, textiles, and furniture ensure that the finished space will be one that radiates vitality and providence. |
